He has 5 years’ experience’ as a faculty in Nigeria. Before that, he served as a research scientist with the Spatial Parasitology and Health GIS group teaching and advising graduate students. He also worked as a program/research manager on NTDs with a non-governmental organization, MITOSATH supporting disease control programs. He proceeded to work as an epidemiologist in urban slums of Salvador, where he co-led a team that used CBPR approach to develop interventions used to combat infectious diseases (COVID-19, arboviruses, leptospirosis) and other public health challenges (food insecurity; unemployment; mental and physical health; violence). He has won several extramural funding for his research, as well as awards, commendations and advocacy grants in recognition of his outreach programs on Malaria, NTDs and COVID-19. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles, and a book chapter with over 500 citations. He also has representations in local and international conferences in over 10 countries, and reviews for over 15 reputable journals including PLoS NTDs, Parasites and Vectors, BMC Public Health, Parasite Epidemiology and Control, Frontier’s in Public Health, and Nigerian Journal of Parasitology to mention a few. He is one of the winners of the prestigious American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Young Investigators Award, and the Global Health Committee Award in 2021. As an inventor, he has founded a virtual mentorship platform for early career scientists in tropical diseases research, called T-BOM, which is currently in operation and has received recognition and funding from WHO/TDR. Mogaji is currently an Associate at School of Public Health, Georgetown University, and Adjunct Professor at Marian University in the United States of America. He founded "TROPIMS," an organization dedicated to tackling unemployment, joblessness, and crime rates among young graduates from marginalized Nigerian tertiary institutions. TROPIMS connects these graduates with paid local opportunities in academia and industry, particularly in public health research and disease control programs. This initiative helps graduates improve their skills, enhance their training, and meet their basic needs as they progress into an advanced career role.
